Two Letters ‘PR’.

These two letters, ‘PR’ effortlessly rolls off the tongue with such ease in conversation. Individuals on the receiving end nodding their heads politely with understanding, eager to excuse themselves for a few seconds to sip on the bubbly, while the speaker carries an innocuously confident presumption everybody knows the meaning of these letters – we talk a lot, we are storytellers – we are bursting with passion for subjects in a positive manner.

The initialism of ‘PR’ is popularly mentioned, suggesting an established understanding of what public relations mean to everyone we meet. Still, many have a vague understanding of what PR is, and this is because the words ‘Public Relations’ branches out diversely when it is describing and explaining the role it plays in everything we do.

Powerful Relationships. Persuasive Rationale. Productive Refinement. Possible Realities.

What is PR, and what does a Public Relations company do?

Public Relations concerns relationships, building positive, long-standing connections and perceptions between companies, brands, products and people – an idea of a symbiotic relationship.

I . Understanding clients, their audience, and what they want to achieve.

People in Public Relations are interested and want to understand what a client wants from a relationship. Questions asked are to find insightful answers to understand you, what you do, who your audience is and the things you want to accomplish, and we are listening intently to your answers.

A brand could want their product to be presented in line with luxury goods and express the details and importance of craftsmanship from the people behind the work. Someone else may want to build more awareness on concerning societal matters, as well as create meaningful changes in perception and behaviour through photography, planning tours and exhibitions, there can be a client with a restaurant who wants to articulate through online media platforms the inspirations, ambience and specialities of their establishment and what sets them apart from others.

II. Developing Plans.

PR Companies work with clients closely and attentively to create a communications plan, with research and analysis into competitors, market position, highlighting challenges, planning strategies, the timing of executions, arrangements and methods of delivery. These communications are tailored to the client’s persona and the message they want to convey to their audience.

III. Using a diverse range of platforms to communicate and achieve goals.

Establishing positive relationships with the public is the essence, and it is through the media, collectively broadcasting, publishing and the internet as the general methods where a PR company shares their communications.

PR companies assist in many writing assignments, such as composing speeches and presentations for clients to hold a place in their area of expertise. Other writings include press releases, articles, and editorials, appearing in newspapers, journals, magazines and websites. Researching platforms for speaking, presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions and workshops for clients are among other opening opportunities for exposure and networking.

Even after assignments are completed, the relationships and interactions we have continue, they are ongoing, and as time progress, we find ourselves crossing paths again and we focus on another engagement, with all the goodness previously, carried forward.
